You Cannot Be Compared with Chinua Achebe - Charly Boy Tells Wole Soyinka.

Popular Nigerian artist and song writer, Charly Boy has told Wole Soyinka that he will never be compared with the Late Chinua Achebe.

Charly Boy made this statement while reacting to Wole Soyinka’s statement about Datti Ahmed, the Vice Presidential candidate of Labour Party.

This event was reported on the Social media by PM news broadcasting platform, they made this known on their Twitter page on Saturday, 8th of March 2023.

According to them, they revealed that Nigerian singer, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known by his stage name as Charly Boy, has attacked Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, saying that he can never be compared with Chinua Achebe.

Charly Boy, also known as ‘Area Fada’ made this known on his Instagram page while attacking Soyinka for daring to attack the’Obidients’ movement and criticising Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed over his inciting interview on Channels TV.

Charly boy noted that Soyinka had lost his respect, He revealed that gone were the days he used to give him the kind of respect he had for his father, late Justice C.A. Oputa.

In his statement, Charly Boy stated “The kin respect I had for this man (Wole Soyinka), was almost the kind of respect I had for the late Justice C.A.Oputa, The Socrates of the Supreme Court.

“It has finally dawned on me that Soyinka can never be the man Chinua Achebe was.

“Look at a man many Nigerians put on such high pedestal reducing himself so low for criminal politicians.”

We should recall that Wole Soyinka had an interview where he condemned the statement made by Datti Baba Ahmed, the vice presidential candidate of Labour Party.

Wole Soyinka condemned Datti’s statement that Tinubu should not be inaugurated as President saying that Baba-Ahmed’s statements are sowing seeds of fascism and generating a climate of fear.
